How do I install easyGen under Windows Vista?
Because of the new security measures implemented in Windows Vista, you need to install easyGen with full administrator privilages. Unfortunately Windows Vista does not provide this option directly to MSI files, so you need to create a batch file to do this.
A batch file is a small file that runs one or more commands; to create this file open Notepad and enter:
msiexec /i c:\temp\easyGen_Setup.msi
Where c:\temp\ is the directory where you have placed the easyGen_Setup.msi installation file.
Now, save the file as setup.bat
Run the setup.bat file by right clicking on it and selecting "Run as administrator".
easyGen will now install with the full administrator privileges required by Windows Vista.

You Must Run as Administrator
To install easyGen you must run easyGen as an Administrator, this means right clicking the easyGen executable and selecting "Run as Administrator". When you have registered you must wait for a pop-up dialogue asking if you wish to update your copy of easyGen, you must not click off the confirmation page until this appears - if it doesn't appear then you may have done something wrong.

Does easyGen work in Windows Vista?
Yes, easyGen works with Vista although because of the way easyGen works and Vista`s new security you must run it as an administrator.
To do this, locate the easyGen program file (C:Program FilesSymbianteasyGen 2.4easyGen2.exe), right click on it and select [Run as administrator], confirm that you want to run easyGen, and then it will behave as under XP.

Can I create a Vista shortcut?
Yes, to avoid having to select [Run as administrator] each time, simply create a new shortcut to easyGen and select [Run this program as an administrator] from the [Compatibility] tab.
To create the shortcut on your Desktop, right click on the desktop and select [New] > [Shortcut]. Enter the location of the easyGen2.exe file, or click the [Browse] button and locate it (normally C:Program FilesSymbianteasyGen 2.4easyGen2.exe).
Click [Next]. Enter a name for the new easyGen shortcut. Click [Finish].
Right click on the new shortcut and select [Properties].
The main shortcut properties page will appear, select the [Compatibility] tab and then check the [Run this program as an administrator] box.
